What it is

Anthropic is an AI safety company that builds the Claude family of large language models. Claude is available via API, the Claude.ai consumer product, and through cloud provider partnerships (AWS Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI). Claude models (Haiku, Sonnet, Opus) span the cost-performance spectrum from fast/cheap to powerful/expensive. Key differentiators include a 200K token context window, Constitutional AI training for safety, computer use capabilities, and strong performance on coding, analysis, and creative writing tasks.
