What it is

Heroku is the original platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that pioneered deploy-from-Git workflows. Now owned by Salesforce, it supports 10+ languages with a rich add-on ecosystem. The platform that taught a generation of developers what easy deployment feels like — though Railway and Render have taken its mantle for new projects.
